Bay Guard Pools Safety Fence Installation

Consultation:

While this step can be done by telephone, the best way to asses the needs and concerns of swimming pool safety is an on site consultation and estimate. A Bay Guard representative will meet with you to discuss layout, design, color preference, accessibility options and installation scheduling.

Layout:
The day of installation, templates are arranged out on the pool deck and marks are placed where 1 1/8” diameter holes will be drilled. Holes are spaced 36” apart.

Drilling:
Holes are drilled into the pool deck using a water-cooled, diamond tipped coring-drill. This is a specialty piece of equipment used for drilling precise holes in materials such as concrete, brick, tile and stone. Due to its water cooling there will be no dust in the air, only a sandy slurry that is easily washed away with water.

Deck Prep:
Cores are removed from the holes and plastic sleeves are set into the deck. These are a low profile appliance made from a high density, UV and chemical resistant material. Cap for these sleeves are provided to cover holes when fence is not in use.

Fitting:
The fence is fit into the deck holes. At this time any alterations will be made. This is done by disassembling the fence and reattaching the pole to the fence mesh, creating a taught, strong barrier.

Hardware Installation:
Stainless steel hardware is installed into fence to tie fence sections together, and into termination points. The hardware is a “hook and eye” type of closure with a safety feature that prevents unintentional opening and will also accept a small padlock if necessary. Termination points can be the fence itself when encircling a pool, a vertical support of the screen lanai or a concrete section of the home’s exterior wall.

Clean Up:
Once the barrier installation is complete the Bay Guard installer will remove all equipment and spare material from pool deck and rinse away any visible residue from drilling.
